International tensions remain high as the world watches what Russia may do in regard to Ukraine.
An estimated 100,000 Russian troops have been deployed along Ukraine’s border, sparking concerns that Russia will invade and lead to a full-scale ground war.
The U.S. and NATO have been in discussions with Russia about lowering the heat of the situation, but no progress has been reported.
Daniel Rothenberg is co-executive director of the Center on the Future of War at Arizona State University.
