New ad by Republican accountability effort attacks AZ gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake

Polling by a local firm said support for GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is fading.

Now a Washington, D.C.-based group of anti-authoritarian conservatives has a new ad which labels the former TV anchor an enemy of democracy.

The ad is from a Republican accountability effort by the group Defending Democracy Together. The 30-second spot attacking Lake is scheduled to air on a cable network during a Phoenix Suns game.

Lake is shown vowing to prosecute people for election fraud there’s been no evidence of. Lake also says if she were governor in 2020, she would not have certified results showing that President Biden won Arizona.

The ad accuses Lake of repeatedly lying and cites her own words as proof.

“You could say Biden won the presidency kind of like O.J. is innocent,” Lake said in the ad.

Lake’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Polling by OH Predictive Insights shows Republican support for Lake has dropped by 7 percentage points since November.
