Like a lot of parents these days, Sara Wellensiek sends her kids to school with no small amount of trepidation.
It’s hard to know what to do as a parent during a pandemic, and omicron has only made it tougher to navigate this constantly changing terrain.
Wellensiek has three kids at both a charter and a district school in the Valley, and says both schools have lost her trust when it comes to ensuring COVID-19 safety.
She herself is a former science teacher, and her husband is a professor of virology. So they’ve approached the pandemic very carefully. And she said she worries not only about the impact this has on a parent’s relationship with their children’s school, but the kid’s relationship with it as well.
The Show spoke with her to learn about her experience and concerns.
