As social media warps kids' self-images, experts push for regulation

There is increasing attention on the role social media plays in the lives of kids — specifically the harms those children can experience with the use of platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and others.

A U.S. Senate committee held a hearing on the subject late last year, and advocates are pushing for new laws to help protect kids.

Katie Joseff is one of them. She’s the misinformation and disinformation specialist at Common Sense Media.

The Show spoke with her to learn about the common concerns related to children's use of social media.
