A Scottsdale woman has pleaded guilty to attempted illegal voting in 2020, and a Cochise County woman has been indicted for illegally voting in the same general election.
Both cases involve the submission of a dead relative’s early ballot.
Tracey Kay McKee of Scottsdale has admitted to signing her late mother’s name on one and mailing it in, said the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
A plea agreement recommends McKee be sentenced to probation with no more than 90 days in jail, fined about $2,000 and spend 100 hours doing community service.
McKee’s lawyer did not reply when asked which candidates were selected on the illegal ballot.
In Cochise County, Krista Michelle Conner is accused of signing her late mother’s name and submitting her early ballot.
The Arizona Secretary of State’s Office said Conner and McKee are both registered as Republicans.
