A look at the Arizona Department of Health Services dashboard shows 7,894 new cases reported Feb. 3, along with 61 new deaths.

The total positivity rate of tests here is now 12.3%, and 68.5% of Arizonans have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

While Pima County’s vaccination rate is higher than the state average, testing has still been in high demand there. Schools especially have been overwhelmed, which has led to the opening of more southern Arizona testing sites.

To learn about what’s happening in the Tucson area, The Show spoke with Pima County Health Director Dr. Theresa Cullen.
