Phoenix firefighters responded Saturday to a large home on fire in a mountainous neighborhood near Paradise Valley.
The Phoenix Fire Department believes the blaze was ignited by a significant explosion at the house near 36th Street and Lincoln Drive.
Firefighters responded to the area early Saturday evening, but the nearly 5,000-square-foot home was completely destroyed.
Firefighters then moved to protect the surrounding structures.
A Phoenix fire spokesman says six nearby homes sustained structural damage and that a unit was still on the scene as of Sunday morning.
Authorities said no one was injured, and no one was in the home at the time of the explosion.
