The start of the Cactus League season remains in jeopardy as the owner’s lockout of the players continues.
At the quarterly owners meeting, Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred says a conversation is set for Saturday with the MLB Players Association
“The status of spring training is no change right now. We’re going to have a conversation with the MLBPA about the calendar,” Manfred said.
He also says that they hope to reach a “fair agreement” quickly. Pitchers and catchers were due to report to camps around the Valley next week with exhibition games starting later this month.
