There's an increase in autism diagnoses in kids. Why better detection could be the reason

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  has updated its data on the prevalence of autism.

In 2020, the CDC said one in 54 children were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; now, that number is one in 44. 

Christopher Smith is chief science officer for SARRC, the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center.

The Show spoke with him to learn what's changed and what it means.
