The U.S. House Jan. 6 Committee wants to question an Arizona secretary of state candidate about what he did in Washington, D.C., as a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol.
The committee also wants to interview the state GOP chair, whose signature is on a bogus electoral college certificate that falsely claimed Donald Trump won Arizona in 2020.
The fake Arizona certificate is among records under separate review by the Justice Department. Kelli Ward is now the third signer to be subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 committee.
Testimony by two other Arizonans was scheduled for Wednesday.
A letter to Ward says the committee has documents showing that she spoke with Trump and his staff about election certification in Arizona.
A subpoena letter to Mark Finchem says the committee has documents showing him in touch with a pro-Trump group about a Jan. 6 event at the Capitol at which he was scheduled to speak.
Neither Ward nor Finchem commented on the subpoenas.
