Nearly half a ton of meth and fentanyl seized at Lukeville border crossing

Nearly half a ton of methamphetamines and fentanyl was seized at the small Mexico-Arizona border crossing of Lukeville

Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of Lukeville pulled over a 47-year-old Phoenix man for additional inspection of his RV after he attempted to enter the U.S. on Monday.

A canine alerted CPB officers to the drugs. The drugs were found in the roof-mounted air-conditioning unit of the RV. Inside the unit, they found 880 pounds of meth and 110 pounds of fentanyl.

CBP says the drugs are worth over $4 million.

The unidentified suspect is now in the custody of federal authorities.
