AZ House OKs bills to allow guns in libraries, school grounds

The Arizona House of Representatives approved two measures that would change where guns are allowed around the state.

One bill would allow firearms to be carried in libraries while the other would make it legal for loaded weapons to be carried in vehicles on school grounds.

Both measures passed on a party-line vote with Democrats supporting neither.

While Republicans argue parents should not have to stop to unload their guns before they drive on campus, Democrats say it’s a recipe for disaster and would be dangerous.

Debates on two other gun measures, allowing people 18 to 20 to get provisional concealed weapon permits and allowing guns on university campuses, were delayed.
