It was a wet day for most of the Phoenix area — and some parts of the Valley even got a rare dusting of snow.
The National Weather Service received reports of snow flurries in Fountain Hills, Carefree and north Scottsdale on Wednesday afternoon.
The city of Scottsdale tweeted photos of the accumulation in the Desert Mountain neighborhood and said garbage trucks were not able to collect trash at some homes.
Due to snowfall in some parts of the city, crews were not able to collect trash at certain homes in Scottsdale today. ❄️ If your home was affected, please leave your container out and crews will be back to collect it tomorrow. Thank you for your patience! pic.twitter.com/DdFz9tBDPT

The Weather Service said temperatures in some parts of the Valley will drop into the 30s overnight and recommends that residents in outlying areas cover sensitive plants.
A storm also dropped about a foot of snow in parts of Arizona’s high country Wednesday, hampering travel and closing schools in some areas.
