Police arrest ASU student after finding explosives materials in dorm room

An Arizona State University student has been arrested after authorities found materials to make explosives in his dorm room.

ASU police received a tip from student that another student living in the Palo Verde East dorm might be developing explosives. Police responded and found materials to make explosives in the dorm room. The fifth floor of the dorm was evacuated as a precaution. The Tempe police bomb squad removed the materials.

Ninteen-year-old Logan Reynolds has been charged with two counts of misconduct involving weapons

According to court documents, Reynolds said he had no ill intentions and made the devices for entertainment purposes. Court documents show Reynolds was released on his own recognizance.

ASU police say the case remains under investigation.
