Flagstaff City Council announced Wednesday that masks will not be required inside its buildings as of Monday, March 7.
Following recently updated CDC guidelines, Councilmember Austin Aslan says the new rules will help the city move on from emergency protocol.
“Folks are still, of course, welcome to and encouraged to wear masks. But following CDC guideline, we had very strong consensus on the Flagstaff City Council to move forward with moving out of the public health crisis phase," Aslan said.
Aslan said Flagstaff’s Pulliam Airport is held to federal regulations and will continue to require masks indoors.
