Phil Boas: Republican efforts to limit mail-in voting could cost them the majority

The Show regularly checks in with the editorial board of the Arizona Republic to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.

An off-year election, as we’ll have this fall, is typically a good one for the political party that isn’t in power at the highest levels. In this case, that would signal good results for Republicans, who are in the minority in the House and Senate and see a Democrat in the White House.

But Republic columnist Bob Robb wrote over the weekend that he believes that some Arizona Republicans are doing their best to make the GOP case more challenging — by filing a lawsuit to eliminate mail-in balloting in the state.

The Show spoke with Phil Boas of the Republic for his regular appearance to talk about Robb’s perspectives.
