Cattle Track Arts Compound is in a residential, upscale area of Scottsdale — a little east of Scottsdale Road and just a bit north of McDonald Drive.
It’s a unique location, one that many neighbors aren’t even aware of, and it features space for artists of all varieties. There’s one who works exclusively with felt, another with pottery. A guitar instructor recently grabbed a space. And for many years, a blacksmith did his smithing there.
The Show's Steve Goldstein went to Cattle Track to meet painter Timothy Chapman, a Valley native who was invited to do his art there about three years ago.
The conversation started by asking him to describe why Cattle Track is such a special place for artists.
