For 1st time in nearly a year, all of Sonora now at low coronavirus risk

For the first time in nearly a year, allof Sonora’s 72 municipalities are considered green — or low risk — by state health authorities. That was nearly achieved two weeks ago when just Alamos in southern Sonora was considered yellow, or moderate risk.

This comes the same week every Mexican state achieved the same status, according to federal health authorities, reportedlyfor the first time during the entire pandemic.

In Sonora, cases and deaths have been falling from the omicron-fueled winter wave, and both are at their lowest levels since last May, according to datatracked by independent analyst Luis Armando Moreno.
