Surprise is conducting its annual retail surveyof residents and this year, a new group is invited to participate.
Residents under 18 are being asked what kind of entertainment venues they’d like to see in Surprise. They’re also asked to share their favorite local places to shop and eat, and what new restaurants and retail they’d like to see.
The survey for adults focuses on shopping, dining and what things they travel outside of Surprise to enjoy.
The city’s economic development department uses the information to target businesses. At least five retailers that topped last year’s requests will open in Surprise this year. Local sales taxes make up nearly 40% of the city’s general fund revenues.
The survey is open until April 24.
