What's behind the agreement Brnovich struck with ABOR, Secretary of State Hobbs

After the Arizona Board of Regents and Secretary of State Katie Hobbs filed ethics complaints against Attorney General Mark Brnovich for suing them when he’s also their attorney, Brnovich reached a diversion agreement with the state Bar that up until March 29 was kept secret.

Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services obtained a copy of the agreement and spoke to Brnovich in a rare interview about the contents which now require him to provide a thorough explanation on how he will handle conflicts of interests with government agencies he represents when he believes they’re breaking the law.

Brnovich still took a shot at ABOR and Hobbs for filing complaints:

"In the past, when you had political fights between Fife Symington and — rest his soul — Grant Woods, no one ever thought to weaponize the State Bar process. When you had nasty fights, really nasty fights, between Gov. [Jan] Brewer and Attorney General [Terry] Goddard, no one ever used the Bar process to try to intimidate or undermine someone's ability to do their job," Brnovich said.

The Show spoke with Fischer to discuss the contents of the agreement as well as an update on Brnovich versus Hobbs.
