Lots of workers want to work remotely. But employers are still looking for office space in Phoenix

A lot has been made about the future of the office over the last couple of years as the pandemic led lots of workers to set up shop in their homes, rather than going into the office. But companies are still looking for office space, and one of the places they seem to be looking is the Phoenix area.

According to Andrew Cheney, the Valley's net increase in office space leased versus that left behind, known as net absorption, is roughly in line with the quarterly numbers from 2019. And he says that’s a true measure of the health and demand in the market.

Cheney is a commercial office broker and principal at Lee & Associates. The Show spoke with him to learn what he is seeing right now in terms of office space in the Valley.
