Arizona has distributed social equity licenses for dispensaries. Here's what we know so far

The state Department of Health Services late last week awarded 26 social equity licenses as part of Arizona’s voter-approved, adult-use marijuana program.

Those winners will now be able to open lucrative dispensaries. There were about 1,500 applications for those licenses; roughly 1,300 were qualified and part of the lottery.

Ryan Randazzo of the Arizona Republic has been following this issue.

The Show spoke with him to learn about the purpose of the social equity licenses.
