Department of Interior considering cutbacks to Colorado River water for Arizona, California, Nevada

The U.S. Interior Department is considering emergency cutbacks to the water supplies for Arizona, California and Nevada.

The goal is to prevent the water levels in Lake Powell from dropping even further, which could lead to a halt in hydropower generation at the Glen Canyon Dam.

To explain the situation, The Show spoke with Alex Hager, who covers the Colorado River Basin and water in the West for KUNC.
