Arizona's 2022 candidates are raising and spending record amounts of money

Candidates for statewide office are raising and spending money in record numbers, according to new reports reflecting the first three months of the year.

For the race to replace Doug Ducey as Arizona governor, Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson lead the way for the Republicans and Katie Hobbs for the Democrats.

And in the race for secretary of state, there is no clear-cut favorite to win either primary yet, but candidates who are raising a lot of money — in a race that does not typically attract a lot of attention — are showing who are the haves and the have nots.

To make sense of all the numbers and what they mean for the August primaries and beyond, The Show spoke with KJZZ's Dillon Rosenblatt.
