Money that was donated to help build a southern Arizona border wall instead went toward luxury purchases for the men who organized the effort.
According to court filings, more than $1 million — much of which was donated by Arizonans to a group that included former Trump adviser Steve Bannon — was spent not on a wall, but on things like jewelry, a boat, an SUV and plastic surgery. Two of the men involved pleaded guilty in federal court last week.
