Lots of us have had feelings of burnout over the last couple of years as the pandemic upended work and life for so many people. But are those feelings an accurate description of what burnout actually is? Jonathan Malesic set out to get an answer to that, but his was not just an academic exercise.
Malesic is a writer living in Dallas and is author of the book, "The End of Burnout: Why Work Drains Us and How to Build Better Lives." He says after he left academia, he realized what had happened to him was actually burnout. Then, he decided to research the subject, to try to find out what had happened in his own life.
The Show recently spoke with Malesic and started the conversation by asking if there are people who feel burned out but are actually dealing with other issues that are not, in fact, burnout.
