Civil rights activists pressure NBA to finish Sarver investigation

The top-seeded team in the NBA playoffs has an owner under investigation due to toxic workplace allegations.

As the Phoenix Suns look to reach the semifinals, pressure on the league is growing to wrap up an ongoing probe of Robert Sarver.

Sarver denies accusations that he has a pattern of racist, misogynistic and hostile incidents as owner of the Suns.

Forbes magazine values the team at nearly $2 billion.

The American Sports Accountability Project has called for the NBA to remove Sarver.

Now the coalition of civil rights activists, including Rev. Al Sharpton, is demanding the NBA give a timeline to finish the Sarver investigation which is six months old.

The coalition also wants a meeting with the league commissioner.

The NBA did not respond to a request for comment.

If the Suns make the finals, their season could go until late June.
