AZ House ethics committee tables complaint against Rep. Robert Meza

Robert Meza represents District 30 in the Arizona House.

The state House ethics committee won’t act on a complaint against Democrat Robert Meza unless he faces criminal prosecution.

The complaint by Scottsdale resident Phillip Potter accuses Meza of fraud and public corruption.

Meza’s lawyer has said the allegations are false and were already thrown out of court.

House ethics committee chair Travis Grantham said Potter should have gone to the police.

“If Mr. Potter believes that he has evidence that Mr. Meza has engaged in criminal wrongdoing, it is to a law enforcement agency that Mr. Potter should take that evidence in the first instance,” said Grantham.

Potter also accused state Sen. Lisa Otondo of helping cover up for Meza.
