Arizona's largest Memorial Day ceremony is back in person after 2 years

For the first time since 2019, the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona is hosting its annual Memorial Day ceremony, the state’s largest, in person.

Paula Pedene is with the National Memorial Support Committee.

“The last two years, we’ve had to film the ceremony and then air it, because of Covid, the restrictions, the guidelines. So this year, we’re so honored to be back in person,” said Pedene.

Pedene says the committee is expecting about 1,000 people in person for the event Monday morning.

She says the ceremony also will be broadcast for those who can’t attend.
