Out of Reach: Valley residents know there is a housing crisis in Arizona

The Phoenix area has one of the hottest housing markets in the country right now, and that means for a lot of residents, it’s out of reach, which is what we’re calling our new project on housing here on The Show.

In the June 1 episode of The Show, we heard about what the data tell us about the market; now, we'll hear what residents have to say.

Stacy Pearson is co-founder of the firm Lumen Strategies and, working with the group Home Arizona, commissioned a poll to find out what likely voters in a handful of Valley cities think about housing right now. Among the findings: More than 80% of respondents think the state needs more homes, and a third of voters would consider leaving their city because of housing costs.

The Show spoke with Pearson to learn more about the poll's results.
