A passionate Tempe City Council meeting at the end of last week led to a 5-2 vote in favor of going forward with negotiations on a possible entertainment district and hockey arena for the Arizona Coyotes.
The NHL team will be playing on Arizona State University's Tempe campus for at least the next three seasons, but after an end to the organization’s relationship with Glendale, it needs a new, professional-level home.
Tempe Mayor Corey Woods was one of the five council members to vote "yes" on having additional talks with the Coyotes.
The Show spoke with him, and he began the conversation by explaining why he was in favor.
