National Weather Service issues excessive heat warning in Phoenix

An excessive heat warning was issued in Phoenix by the National Weather Service on Tuesday.

Marvin Percha, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix, says high temps over 110 degrees are predicted to last all week long.

“Temperatures will likely reach 110 tomorrow and then go above that, perhaps some highs up in the 113/114 range for the weekend, Friday on through Sunday," Percha says.

Percha says the excessive heat should only last until next Tuesday — when temperatures return to normal levels of desert summer heat.
