As possible end of Roe v. Wade looms, some AZ abortion providers are taking it one day at a time

Abortion in Arizona could soon be highly restricted or banned completely, which means providers are taking things one day at a time.

Dr. DeShawn Taylor is an ob/gyn and owner of Desert Star Family Planning. She’s preparing her patients for the possible reversal of Roe v. Wade. So, her conversations with patients go something like this:

"So my ability to provide abortion care for you is really going to be kind of a day-to-day decision."

For example, say a patient comes in on Friday.

"We have to have a conversation, like well, there's a decision next week, so I am not sure that we'd be able to provide you care next week," she said. "And so that's just how I'm going to continue to move forward until we know."

Another important piece to this says Taylor: There is a mandatory 24-hour waiting period before an abortion can be performed.
