Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers is expected to testify at Tuesday’s Jan. 6 committee hearing.
According to CNN, the testimony will focus on former President Donald Trump’s pressure of state officials to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in 2020.
Bowers will reportedly be joined by two Georgia election officials — Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his deputy Gabe Sterling — who faced similar pressure from Trump.
Earlier this year, Bowers blocked a bill that would allow Arizona lawmakers to overturn election results by assigning it to all 12 house committees, ensuring that it never reached the state House floor.
Other Arizonans, including U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs, state Rep. March Finchem, and state Republican Party chair Kelli Ward, have been subpoenaed by the committee.
It is unclear if Bowers’ testimony will include questioning on a slate of fake electors. Two members of the fake slate have also been subpoenaed by the committee.
