'A giant, gaping hole': How the Phoenix Mercury are handling Brittney Griner's absence

Russian prosecutors last week were granted another extension in the case of Brittney Griner.

The Phoenix Mercury star has been detained in Russia since February on allegations she was trying to bring vape cartridges into the country that contained hashish oil; the U.S. has classified hers as a “wrongful detention.”

Also last week, members of the Mercury met with State Department officials to talk about the situation. Vince Kozar was in that meeting; he’s president of business operations for the Mercury.

The Show spoke with him and started the conversation with how he thinks the Mercury’s season has gone so far — the team is 6-10 and 4th place in the Western Conference after going to the WNBA finals last year.
