Arizona’s parks and recreation programs are extremely popular, but they sometimes struggle to make ends meet.
But the state is about to get a new shot of funding for these outdoor pursuits.
Arizona Sens. Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema announced last week that Arizona will receive more than $5 million from the Land and Water Conservation Fund for outdoor recreation and conservation projects.
The fund is used for a variety of purposes, from national park upgrades to local recreation programs.
It is supported by royalties in offshore oil and gas drilling.
