PCMag has published this year’s list of the best mobile networks in the U.S., and Phoenix received a dubious distinction: slowest upload speeds.
Phoenix offered a mere 13 megabits per second. That falls well below national averages in the low 20s and 30s and far behind the maximum of around 140 Mbps.
Among providers, Verizon’s mid- and high-band 5G ranked highest in the Valley, especially in downtown Chandler and in Scottsdale near the Phoenician resort.
T-Mobile, which led the 30 cities tested in speed and quality, lagged behind in Phoenix, especially near Chandler and Papago Park.
AT&T came in last here and nationally, likely because it hasn’t yet turned on its fastest frequencies.
