The Fourth of July is a festive holiday, with fireworks lighting up the sky. But that can also create danger.
Ashley Losch is a spokeswoman for the Glendale Fire Department. She said from Sunday night to Tuesday morning, the city’s firefighters responded to eight fires caused by fireworks.
“We've had multiple homes that are going to be lost because of the fireworks — where families are going to be displaced,” said Losch.
Losch says this was an unusually high number of fireworks-related incidents, and that last year, the city had no such fires over the Fourth of July.
