July 7 is the deadline for citizen initiatives to file signatures to put their issues before voters in November.
Just because a group files enough signatures to qualify now does not guarantee a spot on the ballot — challenges and other legal problems could still disqualify a measure. But we can still expect to see boxes of petitions being hauled up to the Secretary of State’s office during the ahead of the deadline.
