Phoenix high temperatures expected to be 110+ degrees all week

Phoenix should expect more extreme heat this week, with high temperatures over 110 degrees until next Sunday.

National Weather Service meteorologist Bianca Feldkircher says Monday may be the hottest day of the week.

"There’s about a 5% chance of hitting the 115 mark in Phoenix, and because of these extreme temperatures, we do have an excessive heat warning in effect, too," said Feldkircher.

Feldkircher says overnight lows this week will reach the 90s, meaning very little relief from the daytime heat. She says these temperatures are just a few degrees above average for this time of year.

5-day forecast

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 114. Low around 90.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot. Low around 89.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 111. A 2 % chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 90.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 110. Low around 91.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 111. Low around 89.
