Chandler's new ride-sharing service looks to steer the way for affordable transit in the Valley

The city of Chandler is launching a two-year pilot project for a new program called Chandler Flex July 12.

It’s an on-demand ride service that’s running mostly in the southwestern part of the city. Funded by a $2 million transportation modernization grant from the group A for Arizona, rides will be free during an initial promotional period, and will then cost $2 per ride.

Jason Crampton is Chandler’s transportation planning manager.

The Show spoke with him to learn about the program's goals.
