Supreme Court's recent rulings may cause Americans to consider moving to a different state

Cultural upheaval in the U.S. — like we're seeing from a number of people in relation to recent Supreme Court rulings — often leads to emotional reactions and feelings of disconnect. That can include talking to friends about leaving the country and moving to someplace more in line with your views.

The Supreme Court decision related to abortion has many Americans considering moving to a different state or deciding to go to college in a place more likely to offer reproductive freedom.

Scholar Richard Florida has been at the forefront of studying why people choose to live in a particular area — including whether they settle in an urban or rural locale.

The Show spoke with Florida about whether he expects to see more movement from place to place now, in response to the high court's decisions on abortion and guns, in particular.
