Maricopa County evictions back up to pre-pandemic levels

Evictions in Maricopa County are at the highest level since before the start of the pandemic.

June saw the highest number of monthly eviction filings since spring 2020.

The latest data from the Maricopa County Justice Court shows that landlords filed 5,792 evictions in June, compared with 5,669 in June 2019, before the pandemic began.

Before state and federal eviction moratoriums slowed lockouts during the pandemic, Maricopa County had some of the highest eviction levels in the United States.

A court spokesperson has said that rental assistance applications are still being accepted.
