The Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray have agreed to a five-year contract extension worth nearly a quarter of a billion dollars. This makes him the second-highest paid quarterback in the NFL, just behind Aaron Rodgers.
Murray removed nearly all Cardinals-related content from his social media back in February, raising questions about his future with the franchise. But after extensive negotiations, the team announced on Thursday that Murray has signed a deal worth $230.5 million, with $160 million guaranteed.
It will keep Murray with the Cardinals through the 2028 season. Murray has helped improve the Cardinals’ record each season since he was drafted in 2019, and this massive deal shows the Cardinals believe he will also play a significant role in their future success.
