Phoenix Suns Head Coach Monty Williams has agreed to a multiyear contract extension, according to ESPN.
Williams has two years left on his original contract, and this extension will keep him in the position for “several more years,” according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Williams won the NBA Coach of the Year award last season, after leading the team to a franchise-record 64 regular season wins.
He has won 66% of games in three seasons, bringing the Suns back to the NBA Playoffs for the first time since 2010.
In the previous five seasons before Williams’ arrival, four different Suns head coaches won 31% of their total games.
