You had to be on a real media fast to not know about the dueling political rallies in our state last Friday as both Donald Trump and Mike Pence traveled to Arizona to campaign for dueling Republican candidates for governor.
Trump stumped for Kari Lake, while Pence and his ally Gov. Doug Ducey cozied up to Karrin Taylor Robson.
“Never forget, everything this corrupt establishment is doing to me is all about preserving their power and control over the American people, for whatever reason," Trump said, while Pence said, "Look, I’m always happy to welcome converts to the Republican cause, but Arizona Republicans don’t need a governor that supported Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.”
The surprising thing here, though, might be how far down the ticket the Trump test seems to extend.
