Study finds even with health insurance, pregnancy costs thousands

Health care costs have been going up in recent years, sometimes by a lot. And a recent study by the Kaiser Family Foundation shows that is no different for pregnancy.

In fact, they found that the average cost of pregnancy for someone who has health insurance — from prenatal to postpartum care — is now nearly $3,000 out of pocket. And that can have major implications for families at a tough financial moment.

To learn about the trend and its effects, The Show spoke with Cynthia Cox, vice president with Kaiser Family Foundation.
