There's a new treatment for prostate cancer. One doctor thinks it could combat many other illnesses

Prostate  cancer patients have a new treatment.

The Food and Drug Administration recently approved Pluvicto, which consists of a series of injections. And Dr. Phillip Koo says lots of patients will qualify to use it.

Koo is chief of diagnostic imaging at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, and says the first patients at his facility are scheduled to start their treatment this week.

The Show spoke with him and asked what’s so significant about this medication.

Editor’s note: This story and accompanying audio have been updated to correct the type of cancer Pluvicto treats.
