Dana Lewis becomes the new Pinal County recorder

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors has unanimously voted to appoint Dana Lewis as the new recorder.

Lewis was sworn in Friday following the resignation of former recorder Virginia Ross, who became the new elections director after the ouster of David Frisk on Thursday.

“I’m filling some pretty big shoes. My mentor, Virginia, has been amazing. I want to be sure her staff continues to be recognized going forward and making sure the early voting process — the integrity is there and secure,” said Lewis.

Frisk was fired after election blunders that included a shortage of in-person ballots for Tuesday’s primaries.
