Cowboy poet Chris Isaacs explains the history, tradition of his craft

The 34th-annual Cowboy Poets Gathering kicks off Aug. 11 in Prescott; it’ll be a celebration of the old time Western tradition — including music, poetry and performers young and old.

The world of cowboy poetry got some national attention recently when one of its stars, Baxter Black, died earlier this summer.

The Show spoke more about the tradition and its history with one of Arizona’s own cowboy poets, Chris Isaacs.

The 34th-annual Cowboy Poets Gathering goes through Aug. 13 in Prescott.
